Foster Care Ministry exists as a result of seeing the needs of foster children and foster parents in our community, first hand. The primary goal for this ministry is to provide everyday needs that a foster parent or a foster child (ages 0 months-18 years old) may have. Foster parents are required to provide everything from food and clothes to everyday necessities for the foster child they care for. We want to encourage foster parents and foster children, and let them know that there is a place that cares about them. Each month, this ministry has a unique focus. This ministry has focused months for items such as hygiene products, healthy snack foods, school supplies, diapers, wipes, formula, books, clothes and Christmas gifts. The items collected each month are accounted for, packed and then taken to our local Houston County DEFACS, where foster families can pick up needed items.
We are currently in need of volunteers to help count and distribute the Foster Care Ministry Items that come in each month. If you are interested, please contact Claire Wills at firstname.lastname@example.org.
